No Science To Hooping? Then Why Is The Hoop Patented?

The Hulahoop is not just a ring of plastic tubing.  It has actually been issued a United States patent.

The Hulahoop patent was issued to the Wham-O company in March 1963.  Wham-O brought us such great toys as the Frisbee and Silly String.

Inspiration for the Hulahoop came from an Australian toy, a wooden hoop that could be twirled around the waist.
