Flying with a Hoop
Want to take your hoop on a trip, but you aren’t sure how to get it on the airplane? Here are a few tips for bringing your hoop along for the flight:
1. Properly pad and package your hoop. Many airlines may ask you to sign a damage waiver or simply not allow the hoop on board if it isn’t wrapped up somehow. There’s no need to run out and buy a special hoop bag, though. You can try wrapping scarves around it or wrap it in bubble wrap.
2. Check with the airline for carry-on and oversized baggage dimensions to avoid confusion at the airport or any extra fees.
3. Consider making your hoop collapsible. A collapsible hoop is much less cumbersome on flights. Here is a great video that shows how to make a collapsible hoop with button snaps.
4. Remember to smile! Most people won’t have any idea what you’re carrying, so carry it with a smile, and spread the hoop love.
